Brief description of vessels and on board scientific equipment :
'Alliance': length 93m; displacement 2,920 t.; cruise speed 16 knots; It is a quite acoustic research vessel for open sea, equipped with a vast array of winches, heavy cranes, a lateral a frame and a stern U-frame witha large 4 drum main tow winch allowing launch and recovery of sensors, oceanographic instruments, AUVs and tethered devices. 150m2 lab space, 500m2 scientific storage space. 225m2 additional space (internal oceanographic winch, wet lab, tactical coordinator and conference rooms) Crew: 4
